Articles published in GIMER are made freely accessible online upon publication, ensuring that research is widely disseminated and can be used, shared, and cited by anyone in the academic community or beyond.

The Open Access policy of GIMER offers several benefits to authors, readers, and the academic community:

  • Copyright Ownership: Authors retain the copyright to their work upon publication. However, by submitting a manuscript, authors grant GIMER the right to distribute, store, and publish the article online in an open access format.

  • Creative Commons License: Articles published in GIMER are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This means that:

    • Authors retain the right to reuse, republish, and adapt their work.

    • Readers are free to copy, distribute, and adapt the article, provided they credit the original authors and source.

4. Article Processing Charges (APC)

GIMER operates on an open access publication model, meaning that all articles are freely accessible to readers. In order to cover the costs of publication, we charge authors an Article Processing Charge (APC) once their manuscript is accepted for publication. This fee covers the costs of editorial processing, peer review, typesetting, and long-term archiving of the article.

  • Standard APC: USD 50

  • Discounted APC for Early Career Researchers: USD 35

  • Waiver Policy: Full APC waivers are available for authors from low-income countries or those facing financial hardship. Applications for waivers should be submitted along with the manuscript.

5. Archiving and Distribution

All articles published in GIMER are archived and made permanently accessible. We follow industry best practices for long-term digital preservation, ensuring that articles remain accessible in the future.

  • DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals): Articles are included in DOAJ to increase discoverability and accessibility.

  • Other Repositories: Published articles are also included in other repositories and academic databases to enhance visibility.

6. Public Access to Research

GIMER is committed to public access to research by ensuring that all of our content is freely available to the global community. The journal believes that providing public access to high-quality academic research helps drive innovation, supports education, and informs public and private sector decision-making.
